Common trading terms in plain English.

Stop loss: An order that closes your trade at a set price to limit how much you can lose.
Risk/reward: How much you stand to gain compared with how much you risk. 1:2 means risking $1 to make $2.
Position size: How many shares, contracts or lots you trade. It should come from your risk rule, not a gut feeling.
Drawdown: The drop from your account’s high point to its low point. Prop firms set strict limits on it.
Support / resistance: Price areas where buying (support) or selling (resistance) has tended to show up before.
Slippage: The difference between the price you expected and the price you actually got filled at.
Prop firm: A company that lets you trade its money after you pass an evaluation, in exchange for a share of profits.
Paper trading: Practicing with simulated money so you can learn without real risk.
